The University Lodge of Chester were once again pleased to sponsor the Valedictory Prize for outstanding work on the Performing Arts BA Degree Course at the University of Chester.er.r.forts recognised through receiving this prize and is a lovely reminder of my 3 years as an undergraduate.
I loved my time at University of Chester and will look back on it with fond memories.
Despite the obstacles put in our way by the pandemic, especially on such a practical course, I am so proud of all the work I produced over the three years. The Performing Arts course allowed me to develop skills in acting, singing, dance, and also the technology side of the arts, but I quickly realised that my specialism would be dance. The structure of the course allowed me to follow this path and and made my journey feel more personal.
I came to university as a classically trained dancer, but over the three years I feel I have really developed my skills in so many other styles which I am so grateful for.
I produced some really special pieces of work both as a solo artist and with my fellow dancers and created some amazing memories along the way. Of course, nothing could be achieved without the department’s amazing tutors, who are the most supportive and inspiring team.
Again, I am so grateful and honoured to have my efforts acknowledged through this award. I can’t wait to continue my journey as a dance artist and am excited to see where it will take me".
