A Milestone for University Lodge of Chester

Celebrating the achievements of our members at the Provincial Grand Lodge of Cheshire Annual General Meeting
Last Tuesday 29th September 2026 marked a particularly proud and historic occasion for University Lodge of Chester (ULoC) at the Annual General Meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Cheshire, with four of our members receiving acting Provincial honours.
In a significant milestone for the Lodge, Charles and Mitch became the first members of the student intake at University Lodge of Chester to receive acting Cheshire Provincial appointments.
Both were undergraduates at the University of Chester when they were initiated into Freemasonry through the University Scheme. Since then, they have continued their Masonic journeys within ULoC, progressing through the Lodge and demonstrating their commitment, enthusiasm and dedication to Freemasonry.
Their appointments are a wonderful recognition of their individual contributions and a proud moment for the Lodge, highlighting the success of the University Scheme in encouraging students to discover Freemasonry and develop lasting connections within the Craft.
Congratulations to:
- Charles, appointed Provincial Junior Grand Deacon.
- Mitch, appointed Provincial Grand Steward.
The celebrations were made even more special with two further members of ULoC receiving acting Provincial appointments:
- WBro Andy Tong, appointed Provincial Senior Grand Warden.
- WBro Mike Edwards, appointed Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies.
These appointments are a tremendous honour for all four brethren and reflect great credit upon University Lodge of Chester.
On behalf of the Lodge, we extend our warmest congratulations to Charles, Mitch, Andy and Mike. We wish them every success and enjoyment in their respective Provincial offices during the coming year.
A proud day for University Lodge of Chester, and a significant milestone in the continuing success of our University Scheme.

Well done, boys.
Proud of you.
Simon☺️
