I hope everyone has a good summer, and are ready for the new season starting on October 21st 2024.
It has been a busy month on the charity front, with two lodge members taking part in the the Race for Life. University Lodge of Chester were pleased to sponsor Thomas Moss who ran the Warrington 10K at Victoria Park, Warrington, the whole event raising over £19,000.
Meanwhile one of University Lodge of Chester's oldest members Dr Andrew Fraser ran 5K at Tatton Park, he solely raised the magnificent sum of £716 towards Cancer Research UK.
The August social event attracted a number of members to indulge in a few beers, a good old catch up on one of those nights that it didn't rain at Harkers alongside the canal in Chester,
This was followed up by a super curry in Barton Rouge next door.
The Lodge Secretary Paul Rogerson married his long suffering partner Gaynor at the end of July at Statham Lodge, Lymm. (Knew those tails would come in useful!).
As they have two houses full of pots, pans, and usual wedding presents they asked their wedding guests to donate a sum of money to Claire House Children's Hospice at Clatterbridge, Wirral. Paul and Gaynor were delighted to present £1,960 from their Just Giving page to Cora Shafto, Community Engagement Manager at the Hospice.
