October was a busy month for the Lodge and its members, apart from the Lodge Secretary who was sunning himself and his new wife in Cyprus!
The month started with the Annual General Meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge, this year's meeting was again slightly different than the norm. The meeting was called off part way through the proceedings to allow Fellowcrafts, Entered Apprentices and Candidates in waiting to join the meeting.
Our very own Jack Farr was in attendance and here are his thoughts;
'The PGL was a different, but interesting experience, because over a hundred masons were present and I was not able to see the entire meeting, since I was an EA. However, the small part that I saw gave me a greater understanding of how every single mason in Cheshire works to achieve goals, particularly the 2027 festival.
One part in particular that I liked was meeting the other EAs, as it was nice knowing others, who are not from ULOC, who are at the exact same part of their masonic journey as I am, especially since I met two EAs from my home town.
Overall, I think that the PGL was a good experience, which gave me more insight into how Freemasonry works in Cheshire. Yet, it would be more enjoyable when I can experience the entire meeting, after I have completed my third degree.'
It was special for several members of ULoC, His Honour Judge Simon Medland was reappointed as Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Paul Rogerson stepped down from his role as Provincial Senior Grand Warden, David Dalrymple was appointed as a Provincial Grand Steward, and Michael Edwards reappointed as a Deputy Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies.
At the October meeting of ULoC, two Entered Apprentices were Passed to the Second Degree, unfortunately the other two EAs were not present due to work and University commitments.
