Universities Scheme Walking Challenge


The Route in Wales and the North


Tomorrow, 9th June sees the start of the Universities Scheme Walking Challenge from Grand Lodge in Great Queen Street, London. Where teams of walkers made up from Scheme University Lodges and Chapters attempt a marathon 3 month relay between all 90 Scheme Masonic Centres, finishing back in London on 8th September, a total of 2021 miles. Their aim will be to collect donations that will be presented to the charities associated with the late Duke of Edinburgh.

The Province of Cheshire’s part in the relay will start at Flint Masonic Hall walking to Cheshire View, Christleton via the Masonic Hall at Queen Street, Chester on July 3rd. A route of about 18 miles which will be tackled by members from University Lodge of Chester, Omnium Lodge and St. Mary’s Chapter led by senior Cheshire Freemason Gary Horstman.
